Since its earliest days, Johnson & Johnson has provided learning resources and continued education for those in the medical field.  As we continue to make possible new opportunities to promote virtual and digital education in this new normal, the Johnson & Johnson Institute is proud to announce that it is continuing its collaboration with Advances in Surgery (AIS) through a new “Surgical Journeys” platform.  This innovative education programing will consist of personalized learning for bariatric surgeons, designed to help them improve their knowledge of the latest procedures and elevate the standard of care around the world.

“The innovation curve in surgery continues to move away from the adoption curve, however, surgeons still have the same 24 hours a day in which to be trained. It becomes essential to use technology to personalize education. This is one of the main reasons why I look forward to seeing the ways in which our strategic educational alliance with the Johnson & Johnson Institute will reach new heights this year,” said Rod Menchaca, CEO of Advances in Surgery. “We are proud of how our relationship has evolved, and we are excited to continue our work together to help even more medical professionals around the world.”

Today’s dynamic healthcare system has imposed unprecedented challenges on bariatric surgical education. Through this new programming, bariatric surgeons around the world will be able to access the information and training they need, anytime-anywhere.

The “Surgical Journeys” programming will include modalities for a variety of current bariatric surgical procedures, in addition to best practices and guidelines on patient outreach, co-morbidity education, and improving clinical practice efficiency.  It’s aligned to the needs and learning preferences of HCPs using AIS Adaptive Learning, enabling them to virtually simulate patient-specific modules and practice key components of a procedures.
