For individuals who enjoy sports and exercise, pain and injury can bring that enjoyment to a stop.  The good news is that today advances in minimally-invasive arthroscopic surgical methods are allowing more patients to regain movement and return to what they love sooner.

To facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among those innovating care for these patients, the Johnson & Johnson Institute and DePuy Synthes welcomed experts from throughout EMEA to its first Sports Medicine Symposium.  Held at the Johnson & Johnson Institute facility in Hamburg, Germany, the event concentrated on advances in shoulder and knee arthroscopy.

“This event was truly special, allowing a community of experts to gather and take the time to exchange knowledge, share experience and challenge each other!” said Scientific Committee Member Dr. Laurent Lafosse of Annecy, France.

The world-renown faculty led scientific and practical discussions that engaged the 150 orthopaedic physicians in attendance in a range of topics about the management of soft tissue injuries.  Throughout the program, there was an emphasis on procedural solutions that are reliable, reproduceable and optimize OR efficiency.

“The Johnson & Johnson Institute is honored to collaborate with the EMEA Orthopaedic Sports Medicine community on this inaugural education event,” said Paul Abbott, Group Professional Education Manager.  “We look forward to continuing to work together to help more patients return to the sports and exercise they love.”
