Joint Replacement in the Ambulatory Care Setting
The nurse education content offered by the Johnson & Johnson Institute is created in partnership with world-class experts and is continually updated to highlight best practices and improvements in patient care.
One recently added online CE activity, developed in collaboration with the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), focuses on total joint replacement procedures in the ambulatory care setting. While knee and hip procedures have traditionally been performed in hospital inpatient surgical units, advances in technology and techniques have enabled certain procedures to be performed in the ambulatory care setting. This course analyzes the type of joint surgeries that are transitioning to the outpatient setting and discusses the role of the nurse in the care of outpatient total joint patients.
“Perioperative nurses are vital members of the surgical care team and serve as a crucial patient advocate in the treatment continuum,” Worldwide Director, Strategic Partnerships. “We at the Johnson & Johnson Institute aim to deliver the highest quality educational content available so that perioperative nurses can readily access continued professional growth and development opportunities that directly contribute to advancing patient care.”
