The role of contact force-sensing catheter for persistent atrial fibrillation ablation
Atrial fibrillation is the most common kind of cardiac arrhythmia. Paroxysmal AF may progress to persistent AF, associated with a higher risk of stroke, heart failure, and mortality. Catheter ablation has been established as safe and effective for paroxysmal AF, but data for persistent AF are lacking. The PRECEPT clinical study was designed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of catheter ablation in patients with persistent AF.
